Actor Rejects Assault Allegations Amidst Escalating Dispute with Former Associate

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has categorically denied allegations of physical assault levelled against him by his former associate, Vipin Kumar. The dispute, which has garnered significant media attention, revolves around an incident that allegedly occurred on May 26 in the basement parking area of a residential complex in Kakkanad, Kochi.

Vipin Kumar, who claims to have managed Mukundan's public relations for over six years, filed a complaint with the Infopark police, asserting that the actor physically assaulted him following a disagreement over a social media post praising fellow actor Tovino Thomas's film 'Narivetta'. According to the complaint, the altercation involved Mukundan slapping Kumar, breaking his sunglasses, and issuing verbal threats. Kumar has also submitted medical records to substantiate his claims and has sought police protection, citing concerns for his safety.

In response, Mukundan has firmly denied the allegations, describing them as "absolutely false and untrue". He contends that no physical altercation took place and that the area where the incident allegedly occurred is under CCTV surveillance, which he believes will corroborate his account. Mukundan further stated that Kumar was never officially appointed as his manager and accused him of spreading false information and engaging in professional misconduct. The actor has also filed a complaint with the Director General of Police, alleging that he has received threats to his life and career amid the controversy.

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists and the Film Employees Federation of Kerala have acknowledged the dispute and are reportedly attempting to mediate between the parties. Both organisations have expressed concern over the matter and are seeking to resolve the tensions amicably.
