Chennai's Coastal Carnival Showcases Seafood and Cultural Heritage

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated the Chennai Fish Seafood Show and Prawn Fest 2025 at Island Grounds, marking the commencement of a three-day celebration of Tamil Nadu's rich maritime traditions and culinary diversity.

The festival, organised by the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department in collaboration with the National Fisheries Development Board, aims to promote the state's seafood industry and support local fishermen. The event features a variety of stalls offering an array of seafood dishes, including prawn delicacies, fish curries, and traditional coastal recipes, attracting food enthusiasts from across the region.

In his opening address, Stalin emphasised the government's commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of coastal communities. He highlighted initiatives such as the development of modern fish markets and the implementation of sustainable fishing practices to ensure the long-term viability of the industry.
