BJP Kerala Leadership Distances Itself from 'Empuraan' Controversy

Amidst the political discourse surrounding the Malayalam film 'L2: Empuraan', the Bharatiya Janata Party's Kerala state leadership has clarified its stance, asserting that the party has not initiated any campaign against the movie. State General Secretary Adv. P. Sudheer emphasized that the ongoing criticism reflects personal opinions and does not represent the party's official view.

Addressing the media alongside State Secretary Adv. S. Suresh after the BJP state core committee meeting, Sudheer stated, "BJP has not started any campaign against the film. No movie affects the party. Cinema will go its own way, and the party will go its own way. It is the viewers who should judge what a film is. Cinema is not a matter that concerns us."

Despite the party's neutral stance, internal differences have surfaced. BJP State Vice President P. Reghunath expressed skepticism about the film's narrative, questioning whether it attempts to whitewash organizations like the now-defunct Popular Front of India and external agencies such as Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence .
